When you contact me for a commission, we usually discuss it in email or by phone. Once we’ve agreed on a basic idea, I will email over a sketch of the project.
Please note that sketches are rough, and because each knife I make is unique, they are representative, but not specifically accurate. For example, as I hammer forge each knife, solutions to anomalies in the stock can result in small changes. If I deviate dramatically I will get in touch before I proceed.
When you agree to the design in the sketch, that is when I will begin work. If you have Signal, you can send me securely your credit card details in a disappearing message.
If you would prefer to do this by phone, we will have a call. I copy down the details and once the charge is approved by Square, I burn that paper.
I take a 30 percent deposit to begin work which includes postage. I’ll send you photos when I begin the finishing process, or if I have a question about design direction. I ship using USPS priority mail, insured, which usually arrives in two days.
I am proud to support responders and military members and veterans. I offer a 15% discount for current and former Law Enforcement, firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, and military; just email me a photo of your credentials.
One thing to note is that I ship sharpened knives, please be careful removing the knife from the box.
Sound good? Let’s start!
